JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to grow into an estimating position. We are willing to train the right candidate to meet the specific job requirements, and the training we provide will give you the ability to build the skills needed to successfully perform this role. The Estimator plays a critical role in the planning and execution of flooring projects by accurately assessing project costs and providing essential support to project management. This position requires a willingness to learn, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
DUTIES:
- Learn to analyze residential project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers to understand project requirements and scope.
- Receive training in the use of software tools such as Planswift or RFMS Measure for efficient estimation processes.
- Help maintain organized records of estimates, proposals, and contracts for future reference.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in flooring estimation or a related field is helpful, but training will be provided.
- Familiarity with project management principles and practices is an asset, but these can be learned on the job.
- Experience with estimation software such as Planswift or RFMS Measure is helpful, but training will be provided.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important; the ability to negotiate effectively can be developed through training.
- Good analytical skills and attention to detail are an asset and will be strengthened through hands-on learning.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment will be supported and encouraged.
